The voice of youth baseball belongs to the players. Join the USSSA Field Reporter Network and learn to tell the stories that matter — on and off the diamond.
About the Program
The USSSA Field Reporter Network is an exclusive program for talented young athletes who want to develop skills beyond the field. As a Field Reporter, you'll learn to conduct interviews, create content, tell compelling stories, and build a real media portfolio — all while representing USSSA at tournaments across the country.
This isn't just a title. It's a career-building opportunity that teaches communication, leadership, and media skills that will last a lifetime — whether you end up in professional baseball or any other field.
Member Benefits
Your interviews and content will be featured across USSSA's national social media platforms — building your personal brand in front of thousands of coaches, families, and scouts.
Every interview you submit becomes part of a professional portfolio you can share with colleges, employers, and programs. Real work, real credentials.
Monthly training sessions taught by USSSA content professionals covering interview techniques, storytelling, video production, and personal branding.
Every accepted Field Reporter receives an exclusive USSSA All-Access jersey — wear it on the field, in interviews, and at events as a recognized member of the network.
Learn skills in communication, leadership, and storytelling that are valued in every career path — sports, media, business, or beyond.
Program Requirements
Submit one field interview per week to maintain your active reporter status. Interviews can be with players, coaches, or tournament directors — video, audio, or written format accepted.
Attend monthly virtual meetups with the USSSA content team and fellow reporters. These are part training, part community — you'll learn from each other and from us.
Represent USSSA with integrity. All content must be respectful, factual, and appropriate for a youth sports audience. You are the face of the network in the field.
Must be an active USSSA player or coach in good standing throughout your time in the program. 13–18 years old to apply as a player reporter.
All accepted reporters complete a short onboarding training covering USSSA's content standards, interview best practices, and how to use the submission portal.
The Commitment
We hold our reporters to a professional standard because we believe in you enough to treat you like professionals. Miss your weekly submission? You'll be placed on a one-week probation. Miss two in a row without notice? Your status is reviewed. We want reporters who are committed.
